About Us

AIDS Prevention, Education and Care Non-Governmental Organization (APEC NGO) was founded in 2001. APEC NGO carries out projects on the prevention of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome), STD (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) and drug addiction; the formation of healthy lifestyle priority among general population and especially among young people; the provision of psychological counseling, human rights protection, care and support to HIV positive people and their family members; provision of necessary information to vulnerable groups.

AIDS Prevention, Education and Care NGO is comprised of highly diversified staff members - teachers, physicians, nurses, lawyers, psychologists, as well as HIV positive people - allowing for a comprehensive approach to tackle different tasks and achieve the goals set. Our specialists participated in the Training of Trainers to conduct peer education trainings among the young people and vulnerable groups (injecting drug users, commercial sex workers, and men who have sex with men (MSM)). The members of the organization participated also in different local and international seminars, workshops and conferences on HIV and AIDS related issues.

We are collaborating with a number of governmental and non-governmental bodies, which also work for the promotion of healthy lifestyle among the youth and general population.

Our mission
We communicate the idea of healthy lifestyle among the general population putting a special emphasis on youth. The main direction of our activities is the vulnerability reduction of the youth towards, HIV and AIDS, STIs and drug addiction.

Our Objectives

  • Prevention of HIV and AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases and drug addiction, and formation of healthy lifestyle among the general population, particularly among youth;
  • Care for HIV positive people, psychological support and protection of their rights;
  • Education of HIV vulnerable groups (injecting drug users, commercial sex workers, etc.) and general population.
